Mentor

My name is Andy Davies (aka ‘Twiggy’) and I am the founder of ‘Motorcycle Mentor’ having first began riding mopeds and motorcycles in the early 1970’s then in later life went on to become an instructor.

I have now been teaching people to ride Motorcycles for a number of years. I started out as a qualified DVSA approved CBT and then a fully accredited DAS instructor and later progressed onto obtaining advanced qualifications and becoming a local then fully qualified 'National Advanced' Motorcycle Observer (tutor) as a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists whose training is quality assured by the DVSA.

Other qualifications that I have achieved include an Institute of Advanced Motorists Motorcycle ‘F1RST’, an accredited ‘Advanced Plus’ as well as successfully completing The Police Foundation ‘Motorcycle Roadcraft’ course. I also hold a current DBS.

In addition, I am a registered member of the Driving Instructors Association who are the largest professional body for driver and rider trainers in the United Kingdom, and, as I enjoy everything about riding motorcycles, I am also an active member of a local ‘Freewheelers‘ Emergency Voluntary Blood Bike Service which provides vital support to the NHS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Burkwl1MBc8

As someone with a passion for both riding motorcycles and passing on the knowledge and skills that I have acquired, I take a personal responsibility in ensuring my own continual development through regular assessments and standards checks plus a desire to demonstrate a willingness to put my skills to good use through active involvement in motorcycle charities and emergency voluntary services.

As a qualified DVSA Instructor, an IAM Advanced National Observer and member of the DIA, the largest professional body for driver and rider trainers in the UK, I aim to provide a higher quality of training in order to meet the individual needs of trainees and to provide a positive and enjoyable learning experience.

If you want to develop and improve your riding, please feel free to contact me to discuss your training needs.
