What is Advanced Motorcycle Riding?
Advanced riding is about more than speed or skill—it’s about riding safer and smarter and to progress unobtrusively with skill and responsibility. It involves identifying and prioritizing risks, anticipating situations, making responsible decisions, and considering the impact of your actions on others.
It is based on the Police system of motorcycle control, and our courses teach you advanced-level motorbike skills and riding techniques used by the emergency services including Voluntary Emergency Blood Bike riders as well as those with the civilian, National Escort Group and other commercial outrider services.

We value your input because it allows us to tailor each course to suit your experience, goals, and riding style. There’s no pressure to take a formal Advanced Rider Test—you can simply complete the course equipped with practical, real-world skills that immediately enhance your everyday riding. From improved hazard awareness to advanced control techniques, every session is designed to make you a more confident, capable rider on UK roads.
For those who want to take their training further, we can help you identify a clear pathway toward formal accreditation. After completing the course, you may wish to go on to apply for official testing through recognised bodies such as IAM, RoSPA or BMF Blue Riband. This flexible approach ensures that whether you’re seeking personal growth, safer riding, or formal recognition, Motorcycle Mentor supports you every step of the way.
